Photo Speaks: When it rained here in Abu Dhabi

DSCN6671_InPixio2Neither an ECG report nor a Covid19 spread graph!.. It is just a view of the road from the top. It rained here in Abu Dhabi today and being confined to home, it was just another way of finding an object to photograph.

How to avoid spread of Corona Virus – A Special video from Fathima Neslin

I know by now, you all might have received and seen several videos explaining how to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Pity is that, still there are people who ignore those guidelines.

We do whatever, we can do. That’s when we do. What if, it comes from a girl with Special Abilities.

In this short video, Fathima Neslin, from a small village – Kaipamangalam in Thrissur District of Kerala explains in her own way the following:

  • Request to Wear Face Mask
  • Wash hands frequencly
  • Avoided crowded areas
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • Avoid kissing children
  • Take bath daily
  • Drink a lot of water
  • Be careful
  • And if we are careful, Corona Virus will not spread

The video was recorded by her mother.  She is a member of Pratheeksha – A Self Help Group that I support.

Let us give her a big cheer. Share the video and this post if you like it. It will be a big boost to Fathima and Children like her and also their family and well wishers.

Photo Speaks – A Clean Environment

Posted on Updated on

DSCN6630-1_InPixio#NoChoice but to #StayAtHome. Many things done passionately every day are put on hold. Among them is photography. Finding objects near and far within the comfort zone  to photograph safely has become my new passion now. During a #WorkFromHome break, I looked through the window outside. Streets are quiet except for a few vehicles. I Started looking more deep and close to the farthest objects. I was surprised!. I could see #SheikhZayedMosque  which is about 16 kilometers from my home very clearly. Didn’t want to miss taking a photo of it!

#AbuDhabi is of course a clean city. It has become more beautiful now.

#Covid2019 – is bringing out a lot of changes to our personal self and also to the environment we live. Of course, less pollution is one positive thing that is happening now.

Do not miss out on observing these small things happening around us during these difficult times.

Some immediate take away actions that we could easily adopt, when the situation normalises:

  1. Working from home at least 1 or 2 days per week.
  2. Increased Car pooling and Less Vehicles on Road Day

Give it a thought and share it with me with photos and ideas.

Speed of the Boss is the Speed of the Team

This photo dates back to 2002! Since some times, I was searching for this photo in my archives. Finally, I managed to find it!.

It sums up the trust, motivation and team work of a great team that was there during the period he was in Abu Dhabi.

The photo also show Vincent SAUBESTRE‘s (CEO & President – Total EP Research & Technology USA at Total)  another passionate hobby (Kayaking).

Ice Hockey, Cycling, Kayaking….. All full stops now for several of us.

I am sure, many of you will be really chanting now, Go Corona, Go!

Mind Speaks : COVID Times

Mind Speaks. Truly speaks. Photography is something I am always passionate about. Staying at home, I am now exploring what can I do differently to come out with some interesting subjects to click.

This morning, when I looked outside through my windows, I found my subject for the day. I am always fascinated by palm trees and looking at them on the side of the road, I noticed the shadows for each one of them. Why not observe them closely today?

Here is the result. A dedicated effort to do an hourly click of the shadows. Presenting them to you.

From tomorrow onwards, you don’t need a clock, You have mother nature around.

I am going through my archives and this is my photo of the day.  2019 Photo.

2 minutes of short nap and my colleague caught me…

6 days of non-stop effort for the preparation of our stand at World Future Energy Summit WFES 2019. And it was the 3rd day of the event. So, one more day to go for WFES 2019.

Obviously, the photo is extra special as it is captured by our Remote Sensing Specialist, Damien DHONT!. He is the man behind our latest technology – The Subsea Gliders for Oil & Gas Exploration which was exhibited at our Stand A410 at WFES2019 and again WFES2020.

#MindSpeaks : Gooseberry Goosebumps

Posted on Updated on

unnamed_InPixio2What a nice thought and title that came out in mind today to keep my blogging activity alive!.

True. I open my heart and mind through different media and medium. One is my blogging activity, other is photography and third is my quest for music.

In all the three, I am just a basic student. There are experts and there are critics as well as fans. I do give them due regards.

Now, coming to today’s topic. True. I am getting goosebumps! A different kind, out of fear or anxiety or excitement. I do not know which one is right and correct!

Trying to be a vegetarian, it has been my routine to have rice porridge in the morning before I start to office. Along with it, some dhal and an added marinated mango or gooseberry or spicy pickle of either of them is my routine. It gives me enough strength to take me through my day and be back home.

Rice porridge is traditional and staple food of many Keralites. The porridge made out of boiled rice give lot of strength and stamina. Intake of gooseberry daily gives lot of strength and stamina.

Being able to travel several times to my home town, I replenish the stock of gooseberry pickle each time I return. That means, there is always an abundance of stock and I have the liberty to have two, three or 4 pieces daily.

But, when I looked at the bottle, I found only a few, may be less than 10!….

I realized, I was in a dream world!. I never realize ahead about a tough day that was ahead.

What do I do? I long for having more than one piece today? Only option was to place the gooseberry in a plate and look at its reflection and believe and convince myself, there is not one, but two for you!

Life at times is like that. We are thrown into some harsh realities suddenly without any anticipation or expectation.

The ongoing Covid 2019 situation is also like that. We will survive. We will fight it out.

#StaySafe  #StayAtHome – that is the mantra now. Follow the government rules and guidelines.

We will have opportunities to smile and think over these tough days.

At 3:25 am, the Khaleej Times newspaper is already at my door step. Thank you guys. You are part of our unsung heroes!.

In this present situation, it is our duty say thank you to you, for continuing to do, what you have been doing all these years. Whether it is rain, sandstorm, or now, Covid-19, You are always duty bound to be ahead.

For all, this is the best time, if you are with your children to bring back the old habit of reading aloud from the printed books, magazines and newspapers. Try it out!.

Thank you and #WorkingTogetherWorks – We all will follow government and regulatory guidelines and will win over this phase too.

Best wishes to all #unsungheroes – who make things happen these days.
