Sai Gokuldham Bangalore – an abode of a different kind
Sai Gokuldham
Sai Gokuldham, situated at Vaghatta agraha, about 18 kms from Kadugodi, Whitefield A divine place to visit. It is one of my favourite places to visit and didn’t want to miss this time too. Run by Sri A P N Sharma ji, Sai Gokuldham takes good care of old, disowned, injured animals.  The village is also called Yogapuri, and said to be a chosen place  where yogis meditate.
In its final days, our time spent with this bull was really worth
During our visit, we met a few animals who are very young and another stet very old, and one of them in the last stage of its life.

Due to water shortage, the facility is being shifted to a new location at Maloor shortly, which will have more space for the animals. There will be also option for farming the grass required for the animals at the new facility.
Sri APN Sharama is looking for support for setting up this new facility. If anyone is interested to support, may contact him on +91 9845024039 or email: mayur_elecblr@rediff.com, cool_n83@rediffmail.com.

Christmas 2012 @ Sai Gokul Dham & Sai Ashraya Dham

Christmas 2012 @ Sai Gokul Dham & Sai Ashraya Dham
It was a special Christmas for us. Early morning at the Brindavan ashram Bangalore with a candle light procession to the nearby church singing carols. In the afternoon a visit to the Sai Gokul Dham, which shelters about 75 animals of special kind. They were all types – cows, buffaloes, horses, goats, dogs, cats parrots, doves etc..They are all abandoned by their owners, either due to old age or deformities.
They were looked after well and enjoyed the short time we could spend with them feeding them fresh fruits and leaves.
Off to Sai Ashraya Dham from there. A bit late due to the long journey back. But, with the quality time we had with those animals, we never felt the distance we drove back. The young army were eager and waiting for us. Straight to the prayer hall with the cake and food items, and we thought of reversing the process, normally we do whenever we conduct such a gathering. We had the arathi first and served food to the children, who all enjoyed the meal and then food distribution to the by-standers of several patients from the nearby hospital. It was 3:30 by the time we finished serving to all and had our food at the premises.
We could not wait more to have a bhajan session, in which Jayant , Deepika and Rajashree sang nice bhajans. Not to forget the memorable songs sung by the children lead by Mahesh on vocal and Mohan on Tabala. Mohan was excellent, especially to see him playing well to not familiar bhajans sung by the three from our side. I realized, this is what is called an “Eye for Music” as he was totally blind and just listened to the voice and played along beautifully. At one point of time, as I captured the actions through my camera, I was surprised, there was not one, not two, but 18 quality young singers in the group as they sang with lots of devotion and interest.
Pankaj and Sujatha felt extremely happy to distribute the sweets to children and we concluded with some small games and handed over pencils, books, and toys brought to the kids by Manisha.  A photo session followed and we all wished them good luck for doing well in the forthcoming exams.
A surprise was waiting us as we returned to our cars. A neatly plastered rose flower on our windscreens and as they saw our surprise, they said, thank you uncle – Om Sai Ram.
Christmas at its best.

A day with God’s children at Sai Ashraya Dham

Posted on Updated on

A day with God’s children at Sai Ashraya Dham….
It was the time of celebrations all around…celebrations for Christmas, New Year and lot of excitement with exchanging gifts and greetings at Embitel Technologies, Bangalore. With the idea to “Make a Life Happy This Christmas” we decided to visit an orphanage, celebrate & share our part of happiness with them.
With tremendous contribution from fellow colleagues @ Embitel who joined hands in collecting clothes, funds, toys, stationary etc. for our visit which was planned for 22nd Dec, Saturday to SAI ASHRAYADHAM.
On the visit day.. ( Saturday, 22.12.2012)
Fully prepared to meet the kids and in hope to spend a quality time, I with my colleagues reached the place at 12:30 PM. As our visit was delayed by an hour’s time and thinking the kids might be waiting as we had informed that we will be sponsoring the day’s lunch. We rushed in with the food first, but were relaxed to know that we are before time for lunch.
While trying to settle and start introduction, we had Mr. & Mrs. Sharma coming in to see if things are Ok with us here. Mr. Sharma took us on a tour of the premises and shared his wonderful & divine experiences fulfilling his noble duty for more than 16 years serving with food & shelter for god’s children (Sai Ashrayadham), poor patients that come for treatment to Satya Sai Hospital (Sai Arogyadham) and home for Old & Ailing animals (Sai Gokuldham).
We started the day’s activity with distributing cakes, followed by playing several fun games, giving prizes/ gifts for winners/performances. It was such a true feeling to experience, just by looking at the kids smiling face with hopes in their eyes and when you know it’s all because of you.
The lunch Time…
Before lunch, they all gathered in the bhajan hall and to our astonishment, they started singing Sai Bhajans with great perfection, adding to it Mohan (the blind kid) was playing tabala like a professional.  It’s rare to see in today’s fast moving generation the kind of discipline they had and how organized a kid of 6-7 years of age can be. They all liked the food and enjoyed the meal. At the time lunch was over it was around 4 PM, we handed over the stationary and clothes to the care taker and decided to leave. While returning we all were happy to have such a memorable day in our life and had an extra ordinary feeling of MAKING A LIFE HAPPY THIS CHRISTMAS.

Wednesday, 15th August 2012, was indeed a divine day for us. An unexpected and unplanned opportunity to be with the children of Sai Ashrayadham, Kadugodi, Bangalore. e Nidhi SREE Nidhi – Christmas and New Year Gifts getting ready for children

It’s Friday, and time to open the cloth packets I received from my friends and colleagues to be gifted to the children of e Nidhi SREE Nidhi Programme. I am thrilled, excellent materials; some of them included even brand new clothes and intellectual toys too for complementing my efforts. Tears rolled when I saw those new ones. A friend has offered as many ream of new clothes for their uniforms. God, you have been merciful and kind to support our thoughts and initiatives. My duty is simple now, to iron them once more, roll them neatly and include them in the large box.
Some more gift parcels, including toys are awaited during the coming days. Two more efforts are underway for them and as and when it is achieved, I will share it with you all.
Repeat my call, if you have any good quality, used clothes for children aged 4 to 18 years, white dresses for BOYS, do share them with me quickly so that I can include your gift in my New Year parcel for those blessed children. If you have good quality drawing books, pencils, and tools for crafts, please include them too. There are some talented children in them who may love receiving them.

True regards,

Ramesh Menon

Progress report – week 3 – Computer Coaching Class to children at SAI ASHRAYADHAM, Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bengaluru

Progress report – week 3 – Computer Coaching Class to children at SAI ASHRAYADHAM, Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bengaluru

If you ask me, what is the most happiest thing happening, it is our visit to this small unit each week, or whenever I am there. The children are so happy to learn Computer, Mathematics and English. The glow on their innocent face, when they see us, it’s difficult to express in words. One has to experience.
Week 3, we had three new additional tutors and volunteers – Mahesh Nair, Mr. Srivastava and their little son…. Mr. Srivastava assisted us in cleaning up the computer hard disks, whereas Mahesh assisted in giving lessons. But, the most important member our little master Srivastava was the one who gave life to the entire afternoon.
The children were very happy to see him and straightaway brought a cricket bat and ball and they started playing. It was a divine experience.
Om Sai Ram.

1st day of Computer Coaching Class to children at SAI ASHRAYADHAM, Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bengaluru

Posted on Updated on

Dear Friends,

Om Sai Ram.

With the grace and blessing of all Gurus and Gods, we were able to launch the computer coaching class for children at Sai Ashrayadham, Kadugodi, Bengaluru.

Initial plans were to start with computer basic skills and more children were interested and participated in it on their on will.

I append below an UNEDITED version of email from my wife Rajashree on the 1st day of this project:

“We left at 1:45 pm. Before leaving, I prayed a lot to BABA and our amma to guide and bless me to teach these children in the best possible way.Went along with Mrs.Pragya and mon for the class.

The children were happy to see us. Initially all the elder boys aged above 12 years joined. But later i saw so many other younger enthusiasts eagerly peeping through the window. Then I allowed them also to join. They were simply thrilled.

They were so happy to learn. They showed so much interest  . They have very good grasping power also.

When I asked them simple questions like the full form of CPU, they just shot back with the correct answer. Then I explained to them the significance of CPU

Today being the first class, we took around the whole system.  All of them sat throughout the class keenly listening to whatever we were teaching them. Some of them have drawn some pictures in their books. I shall email you those drawings also.

It was a nice experience spending so much time with these children. WE HAVE A LOT TO LEARN FROM THEM WHEN WE CRIB ABOUT SMALL SMALL PROBLEMS.

THEY ARE ALWAYS SMILING THROUGH THE PAIN AND SO GOD FEARING.

Monu also enjoyed seeing them show so much interest in learning computer.

When we left, they asked us – ‘Aunty neenu saturday bharthiya’.  We told them we will surely come.

Mon has taken some photos of the class sessions. Shall email you””

and now the photos:

Thanks to all the three of you for this great FIRST STEP.
And you, know the children are indeed a talented and blessed bunch. See the drawings they shared with my wife, Pragya and Suraj:

To tell you, I knew they were a group of children and a power house of  talents, when I listened 24 of them singing bhajans before the Annadhanam, on 19th November 2011. The vibration I received was just the same that one gets in the bhajan hall of Puttaparthi with more than 20 or 30 thousands of devotees singing with one voice and devotion… What they need is a Tabala or dolak.. Everything will come, with our gurus blessings.
Sincere thanks to Mrs. Pragya for coming forward to extend a helping hand to this noble project and to my loving wife Rajashree and son Suraj.
Anyone interested to give us a helping hand may contact us on the details mentioned e Nidhi SREE NIDHI  .

Opportunity to participate in an education initiative

Posted on Updated on

Dear Friends,
Om Sai Ram.
Continuing our efforts with the dream project, “e Nidhi SREE Nidhi”,  we have come across an opportunity to educate basic computing skills to children at SAI ASHRAYADHAM, which is close to our apartment complex.
The idea is to impart knowledge and training for the children there to operate computer, learn the basics, and develop their interest so that they can operate computer terminals and kiosks enabling them to look for a first hand opportunity at malls and organization at data entry personnel, or console operators.
We have met and discussed Shri. A P N Sharma, who is the Founder Trustee of the SAI ASHRAYADHAM and have come out with a plan to conduct these classes on every Saturday between 2 PM and 4 PM.
Our wish is to start this humble initiative from this Saturday, 26th November 2011 in line with the ongoing birthday celebration activities happening around.
If any of you are interested to participate in this seva, as volunteer tutor on regular basis or stand in / replacement tutor in case of emergency/non-availability, kindly contact me or my wife or the following:
