Photography guru Radhakrishnan Chakyat‘s new baby on the road. An extremely useful addition to have for a professional like him, who likes to drive, travel, click and then continue to click… Congratulations and what I can do is to just complement with him with a Passionate Photographers signage…. with wishes from www.clicksandwrites.com too, where one clicks to writes or writes to click. Both ways it is passion personfied.

Vidhyarambham – 11 October 2016
Vidhyarambham – 11 October 2016
Vidyarambham (Malayalam: വിദ്യാരംഭം) is a Hindu tradition observed onVijayadashami day mainly in Kerala andKarnataka, where children are formally introduced to music, dance, languages and other folk arts. It involves a ceremony of initiation into the characters of the syllabary.
The Vijayadashami day is the tenth and final day of the Navratri celebrations, and is considered auspicious for beginning learning in any field. The process of learning and initiation on this day is also closely related to the Ayudha Puja ritual. It is usually on Vijayadashami that the implements kept for puja are taken up again for re-use. This is also considered a day when the Goddess of learning,Saraswati, and teachers (gurus) must be revered by givingGurudakshina. This usually consists of a betel leaf,Areca nut, along with a small token of money and a new piece of clothing – a dhoti, mundu or saree.
The ceremony of Vidyarambham (Vidya means “knowledge”, arambham means “beginning’) for children is held in temples and in houses. It is common practise for thousands of people to visit temples to initiate their children into learning.

Taxi ranks would make life easier for commuters
It has become extremely difficult to find a taxi in Abu Dhabi in the mornings.
Many commuters have to wait for more than 30 minutes to find a taxi. Added to this problem is the absolute lack of discipline because there is no queuing system.
As people wait in the sun, you can hear their frustrations and sometimes see heated arguments.
I hope the authorities can increase the number of taxis on the road during peak hours. It would also be appreciated if they could implement dedicated taxi ranks with shelters throughout the city.

Tabalatronic in Abu Dhabi – an international musical fusion event

Tabalatronic by Subash Dhunoohchand and Ramesh Menon
Alliance Française Abu Dhabi is organizing Tablatronic, an international musical fusion event, on Friday, 30th September 2016 at Novotel Al Bustan Ballroom, Abu Dhabi.
The event will have Subhash Dhunoohchand (from Réunion Island) and Ramesh Menon (from Abu Dhabi), performing on various percussion instruments at this cine-concert of worldwide music and an exhibition of fascinating images of Réunion Island.
Performing on stage along with them will be Solange and Nino, the singers of Gayamb, a Creole band that used to play in Reunion Island many years ago. They play original and traditional songs with this particular rhythm from the Indian Ocean called “Sega”: a music mixed from African, Indian and European origins, reflecting the great melting pot of people in Réunion Island that live together for centuries in harmony. Their recent performances included Southern Africa, Bahrain, Oman as well as in UAE.
Tabalatronic tickets can be availed online on Time Out (online) and at Alliance Francaise (paper ticket – contact 02 6122900).
If you, or any of your friends are interested, kindly extend the invitation to them. I will be happy to arrange passes for them to be attend.
Thanks and sincere regards for your support.
