It’s lock down due to COVID 2019. Work From Home progressing and by now, for all it is part of life. For most of my friends, children are at home and so, it is added challenge for them.

My friend has come out with a novel of narrating stories for children and I am sharing them through my Soundcloud channel. It is in Malayalam.

World Health Day 2020 – Say thank you to Nurses and Midwives

Posted on Updated on

WHO CampaignApril 7 of each year marks the celebration of #WorldHealthDay. From its inception at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and since taking effect in 1950, the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization.

Over the past 50 years this has brought to light important health issues such as mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change. The celebration is marked by activities which extend beyond the day itself and serves as an opportunity to focus worldwide attention on these important aspects of global health.

This World Health Day, we honor the contribution of nurses and midwives, recognizing their vital role in keeping the world healthy. Nurses and other health workers are at the frontlines of #COVID-19 response, putting their own health at risk to protect the broader community.

Comprising more than two-thirds of the health workforce in the WHO Western Pacific Region, nurses are critical in responding to health needs in all settings and across the lifespan. In the 2020 International Year of the #Nurse and the #Midwives, the World Health Day is an opportunity to highlight the work of nursing and midwifery around the world, while celebrating this workforce as one of the most valuable resources of every country.

World Health Day is also an opportunity to advocate for commitment and resources to strengthen the nursing and midwifery workforce, improve their education and working conditions, and enable them to work to their full potential.

Read more and participate in the campaign to say Thank You to those in the field of nursing and midwifery.

Veeramani Raju’s experiences on Sabaraimala Darshan

Posted on Updated on

Today is Pankuni Uthram. A very very special day for Ayyappa devotees.

A pilgrimage to Sabarimala temple in Kerala in the olden days used to be a long, hard, traditional, rigorous affair with lot of devotion, discipline and dedication involved. I remember, in the 70s when my maternal uncle and my father used to go by walking for Sabarimala darshan. It used to be 10-15 days trip with absolutely no communication once they start till they return. It has changed significantly now. With modern facilities, faster transportation and increased communication facilities, it has become a casual affair for many. In this video veteran singer Veeramani Raju shares his experience of Sabarimala darshan and cautions devotees to not take it lightly whenever they plan their Sabarimala trips.
Swami Saranam.
Welcome to share this video and spread his glory. Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.

Mind Speaks : COVID Times

Posted on Updated on

Mind Speaks. Truly speaks. Photography is something I am always passionate about. Staying at home, I am now exploring what can I do differently to come out with some interesting subjects to click.

This morning, when I looked outside through my windows, I found my subject for the day. I am always fascinated by palm trees and looking at them on the side of the road, I noticed the shadows for each one of them. Why not observe them closely today?

Here is the result. A dedicated effort to do an hourly click of the shadows. Presenting them to you.

From tomorrow onwards, you don’t need a clock, You have mother nature around.
